Good read. "And anyone with time and alittle patience can construct a train of this type". Looking over the pictures and explanation of the build, I don't think ANYONE could have built this model at that time or anytime for that matter. Quite a bit of skill is required to machine the wood parts. That's not to say that anyone who wants to shouldn't try to build it. As a young boy I read Popular Science and Popular Mechanics. I had the natural talent to build and tinker with things and some of the projects were challenging. With my limited supply of tools I did manage to cobble together some interesting pieces, including a motor scooter built out of wood with a horizontal shaft gasoline engine and centrical clutch. I actually had to get tags for it. When I went to Keystone Automobile Club to apply for the tags I had to supply a brand name for the bike. The clerk wrote down that it was a Padova.
