Searching for Madison and spring pulls up too wide of a search for what I am looking for.
I was wondering if there are replacement springs for the doors of the Postwar Madison passenger cars. If there are, does anyone have a way of installing them??

Contact Jeff Kane at the Train Tender http://www.ttender.com/. Part number 2623-17 ($0.75 ea.). Part number for the door hinge pin is 2623-18 if you need that as well ($0.25 ea.). I've never installed one so others can weigh in on ease/difficulty of installation. You may have to detach the vestibule from the shell.

Good advice from Dave. Remove car end, 3 screws, then slide hinge pin up enough to put new spring in. One side of the spring has an "L". Put that side against the inside of the vestibule. There is a little cutout for the "L", at the bottom, but don't worry if it is not in the cutout yet. Insert pin fully and leave the longer straight side of spring outside. Then work long side up, until you can get it behind the door. Then slide spring down until "L" is in cutout. Good luck,
