Just a quick question.  To remove the motor mounting pin.  Can't find the answer.  I looked online and am bit confused. Someone said about hammering it from the knurled side so as not to make it go deeper. But it will stay stuck on the other hole with the long rod of it sticking out.  Should I tap it out with a flattened nail from the side opposite the knurled end?

When removing a motor mounting pin that has a splined end, I like to drive it out from the oppose side, using a pin punch. I guess you could use a flattened nail.

Be aware that some engines used a threaded motor mounting pin.

To reinstall, I insert the pin, plain side first, through the side that had the splined end. I always align the splines with the grooves that were previously cut into the hole. It should only take a few light taps to put it back.
