I have 2 z4000's to power my layout. I've heard there is a way to connect both to a single on-off switch for both of them and to preset track voltage to 18 volts at start-up. Where can I read instructions for how to do this?

Mike,

It can't be done as the handles must be in the off position when the Z-4000 is turned on. But if you have the remote receivers attached to them, you can use the remote and Z4K tracks to go from 0 to 18 volts quickly.

Mike,

You would need to connect a Z4000 Remote Commander receiver to each Z4000.and use Z4K Tracks.

How to do this may be found in detail on pages 97-98 of The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition.
