Power supply for MTH switches and accessories

I have a small home layout, 8 ft by 12 ft using MTH track and switches. I use a KW transformer to power my TIU. I wonder about the Lionel "bricks", such as the 6-14003 80 watt power supply for powering my MTH switches and several Lionel operating accessories; log loader, ice station, light tower, etc.

Are there connections on the 6-14003and is it practical to use this?
