Now as to Colorado's point the core concept here could be expanded to cover more than just traction. In fact I had been tossing ideas on a McKeen car truck with some colleagues a few months ago. In theory I could make a fully functional kit, including with that flywheel working.

Put me down for that McKeen car truck after you get the drive truck for my coal motor done, Dylan!!!

Dylan,

Forgive me if this question might have been asked already but as I'm typing from my phone I'm sure to have missed a few of the replies when I was scrolling. Was is the installation progress on these trucks? I have 2 corgis powered by GHB trucks and a third that I bought a Bowser kit for, but getting the shell off to install the bowser is a pain and I found the instructions available over at Qcar a bit confusing to say the least regarding the shells removal. Are these simply screw on trucks like the GHB ones? If so I'd definitely be interested in order a couple for 3 rail, or even of they have any detailed instructions on installation for that matter.

Thanks,

-Ian

So in the lead-up to the Harrisburg O Scale show April 1st, I've got good news! The wheelsets are going together quite nicely. One of the longest-running improvements has been the wheels, centered around the hub design. Since the last batch went out about a year ago now, months have gone into trialing a better hub design. Suffice to say the work has paid off. These wheelsets frankly are showing their superiority in both ease of assembly and balance to the original hub design. Other improvements thus far implemented include thickening the retaining plates, a revised motor clamp to center the motor in the truck, and a backer block to give the worms more support. Now if I could find a slightly shorter axle I'd be even happier... So far ten kits are in the pipe, materials for more are inbound.

Dylan, I just wanted to clarify - are these only for DCC, or AC 3 rail as well? And also, what is the process for installation? Simple screw on or is the removal of the shell required? I made a comment before but it might have gotten lost. My several streetcars with AC GHB power trucks have now burned out from long road time so I'm in the market for a few new 3 rail motors for my corgis.
