Have an interesting round of business taking me between Tucson, Phoenix, Winslow, Flagstaff, Las Vegas and LA and was hoping to find some delightful Lionel Shops to stop by that would serve my Pre/Post War Lionel interest! Suggestions please?

Burlings' Ton of Trains in Fountain Hills (north and east of Phx) is a great place. Lots of postwar, pre-war and even standard gage. He is only open weekdays however.

The Train Engineer in Las Vegas is a must stop. Not the one on Durango.
The one on Chandler about Eastern & Sunset.
Look carefully, the website that looks like The Train
Engineer is really for Westside Trains, big letdown.
Be prepared for west coast prices in that whole area.

I looked up both locations , and they have the same phone number . It appears the same website too.

The one not 1/2 a mile from runway 25?

I can hope you mean the prices are so attractive I can't help but spend, but I have the feeling you are indicating there is a west coast premium tax?
Try the Arizona Train Depot near Phoenix. Wonderful staff. They had some post/pre war but a majority was modern stuff.
When I'm in LV I like to stop at the Train Engineer if I have the time. The owner and his wife are old school train shop people. He really seems to understand how the technology works, and he's happy to spend the time to talk to you (as does the wife). They carry a lot of new stuff, but still has an assotment of the older fare. The prices are pretty much MSRP, but I don't mind paying full price for a friendly visit.
I needed a CAB-1 TMCC controller when they were near impossible to find. He had one, and he didn't jack up the price even though it was a seller's market.

I 2nd Burlings' Ton of Trains for older stuff. But I do think some of his prices are off. Am example is he's got some MTH PS-1 locomotives he is still asking MSRP for. But there have been others that I got a steal on. But as for selection, he's got a huge one. Just be prepared to dig.

I was in there yesterday and they didn't have any, just new stuff. But it's still fun to go in and talk to Steve and Amy. They aren't open Sunday or Monday.
