Thoughts?

I wish there was a pad for Kadees.  I need to dig out my Railway Prototype Cyclopedia and scrutinize the pictures a bit tonight.

Hard to believe that we'll soon have RTR PRR round roofs and Milwaukee Road rib sides to join our B&O wagon-tops...

Hey Steve,

My cutoff point is 1957 and I lean hard on the '46-'54 side of things, so plug door and combo door cars are of little use to me.  They ARE definitely useful for other folks, though, no question.   I'd prefer a 40' 6 panel ARA single sheathed composite boxcar or a CP/CN Fowler 36 ft car -- which I've proposed to Weaver multiple times -- but there seems to be little interest.  A modified 1937 AAR 40' boxcar w/6' door (not the same as the Atlas/Intermountain and MTH car) like the sort Protocraft is importing in 2 rail brass would be great.

No one has even talked about the new tooling from MTH.

50’ PS-1’s on the way capable of supporting the combination door option.

Hello?

Think of the variety.

I wonder if it is too late for Lionel to correct the roof walk tradtment. The walks should extend further out from the car end, and the roof walk end supports look nothing like the prototype.  The door guides are also a little heavy, but that seems the price we pay for sliding doors.  For those that care, these features can be corrected.  It would be nice if Lionel molded in a flat surface to mount Kadee's like MTH and Weaver- but it is not too difficult to add them.

I hope Weaver, MTH, Lionel, and GGD continue to offer scale oriented O gauges mass produced models of distinctive prototypes.  For many years brass models were our only option. I plan on purchasing several Lionel X31's to two rail.
