My 252 quit running the other day. I took off the body and all wires looked good, no brakes and connected to where they should be. What should I be looking for to get this running again.

Does it have a manual reversing switch? If so, check continuity between the pickup and the terminal on the switch that connects the headlight. The post opposite it is the field connection, so you should have continuity between it and the frame. With the switch in the forward position, you should have continuity between the pickup and one brush holder, other brush holder continuity between it and the field. With the brushplate removed, about 2-3 ohms between segments and infinity between the segments and shaft. Easy-peasey.
