I am resurrecting my Dad's pre war Marx set and would like to run a new o gauge K line interurban on the same table.  The Marx is a 391 loco Canadian Pacific set with a 13 volt transformer for the track and accessories. This set has not been used since the mid 1960"s.  Is there a transformer that I can use for both sets or do I need two separate transformers? Any guidance or suggestions are welcome.  There are two switches with the set, what power would they take?

There shouldn't be any problem running the two together.  The big issue will be running through switches. I don't know the wheel configurations for K-line trains but I'm guessing they are the same as MTH and Lionel.  The drivers on many Marx engines (yours included) have, courtesy of the gear cogs on the wheels, a much "fatter" cross section which means they won't be able to go through switches designed for K-line, MTH or Lionel.  The thickness of the wheel will cause them to derail.
