I have a 1990's Weaver AA set that has not been run and the instructions say to put a drop or two of oil on the outside idler gears as opposed to some light dabs of grease as I have done in the past with other locomotives.  I've put some very small dabs of Red N Tacky where each idler gear engages another.  What is the preferred method?

Should I also remove the trucks and make sure the worm gear from the motor that engages the truck gears still has grease there?  Should I also I oil on the axles and pickup rollers as well?
