I have found 3 B&O passenger station sound files in PS2 3volt but I don't know what they actually sound like, is there a way to preview sound files? And, as long as they are PS2 3volt files going into a PS2 3volt locomotive it will work, correct? The destination is an ABA set with motors in each A unit, does that matter?

Thank you,

The destination is an ABA set with motors in each A unit, does that matter? No, because ABA sets with a powered second A unit use the PS2 slave board, so the lead engine is just the lead engine with a tether. Again nothing "special" about a sound file for an ABA set VS a single A.

Thank you,

Just for the record, what is your target engine product number? In other words, the ABA set you are intending to put this sound file on. I just want to check the parameters and softkeys.

This is from this file 30-4113-1

Also, I feel dumb, but I can export an MP3 clip of sound, but not the entire file of multiple segments? I can play the entire file locally.

FWIW, any time spent researching this for you paid off, that is the first time I caught something like that in a sound file. Makes me wonder what other ones out there exist. It might be such it's not normally invoked or played, or played at random. Also being part of the wreck sequence, not sure how many people use that. Again, there are sounds in this file that might not ever get normally played by the firmware on the engine, or not easily invoked. Again, somebody at MTH was having fun that day- clearly audible in that file.

But definitely,- I'm now copying that into other engine files to run at the local club for fun. I almost want that as a softkey -"Save the Chickens".

So your target engine 20-2650-1

Left is target          right is source file (checksum is only difference)

Upper is target

Below is source file- Note missing Light function softkeys Marker LED LMK and Aux Light on interior LA1

I make no guarantees but I edited the sound file you wanted to use to match the features (softkeys) for your Premier engine.

So I would try using the attached version of the sound file.
