Hey Y'all

My broken foot is healed and I'm now recovering from Covid.  I felt like working on my prewar #252 engine.  A while back I installed new wheels and replaced the fibre gears with brass.  This engine has a part time reverse unit.  It usually does not work.  The fiber "plates" are warped.  The spring still works.  I would like this engine to run, if only in forward.  I'm sure a prewar fan can help.  Are parts needed/available?

What say you friends?

Replacement wafer reverse switches are available from some suppliers for about $20. You can remove the switch and wire the motor directly to run in one direction by:

- wire the center pickup to one brush holder and to the headlight.

- wire the field coil to the other brush holder.

if the loco runs in the wrong direction, either reverse the body on the frame or swap the leads to the brush holders.
