Prewar freight set #, ?

From Greenberg's Prewar Sets (Dave McEntarfer) Volume IV, the only set that would have had that consist would be Set#1093W, indicating the whistle tender.  The transformer in the set description wasn't mentioned by number, but if you have the 1040 transformer, the set would date to 1939.  The 1093 came as the 1093E & 1093W, issued 1938-1940.  The transformer wasn't issued until 1939, so that puts the date to 1939, or a leftover into 1940. The remainder of the set included 10 curved track, 5 straight track, and a pair of 1121 switches, & Xfrmer.

Ask the question, get an answer, NO Response!!!!!  What's wrong with some forum users who just vanish??????

Seems like you didn't give the poster much time to reply.  I agree that it would be nice to get a thank you.  The poster may not have had time to log back on though.

I posted 20 hours ago..  With my schedule I am lucky to get online once a week.   I do appreciate the info,   It is the year I expected but the set # is new info.

Please work on patience,  I will want to know more from this forum, but not if insulted.

Did you read the bottom of his reply?  It says, "Thank you for your time."

Why are you guys making a big deal about this?  I think we should post on the forum to help everyone and not really expect gratitude.  TELEDOC gave a great answer that will not only help this poster, but will help others who search the forum.  Sometimes a simple 'Like Reply' is gratitude. Sometimes there is no reply. Should we all stop posting if we are not immediately showered with praise and gratitude for our assistance? Come on, there are better things to worry about.

Jeez !!   Picky ! picky !  I have GIVEN some things a way, like parts and have not received a TY.  Relax. PS:  I paid the postage, too.

Me too, and I don't think I ever heard from the person I sent the item to after paying the postage myself. Do I care? Not really.  I hope they are happy and enjoying the hobby.

1. Since I posted the requested info, I'll weigh in on the remarks.  I think some or most will agree that there are postings with an answer to someone's question, that never ever gets any response from the OP.  I call these Posters the "Hit & Run" posters, Never to be seen again.  They don't want to spend the time to research an answer, and are looking for instantaneous gratification.

I now understand American Westlines situation, and didn't expect some of the responses.  This situation comes up on many different forum, not just here.
