I have been looking for an O gauge tinplate trolley and have come across a Pride Lines Disney Trolley. It is one the orange versions and still has the display track. My question is how well do these trolley's run? Thank you.

Wish I could answer your question. I have been curious about the same thing. Always thought about getting one myself but some other item got my train funds first! I would like to know what kind of motor was used in it?
I have the yellow tencennial trolly commemorating the first 10 years of Disneyworld and it runs as any tinplate toy train. The wheels have that spinning effect on the tracks and it makes that tinplate "chatter" sound. Mine is a smooth and good runner. It's fun and whimsical.
I do not have a Pride Lines trolley, but I do have a Pride Lines Hiawatha, which was plagued with mechanical and electrical problems until I replaced virtually every moving part with Lionel and MTH parts. Among other things, the field coil in the motor went bad after an hour or two of operation. As far as I know, parts for the trolley are unavailable, since Pride Lines has been out of business for a while. If the trolley is a repro of a Lionel product, it may be that repro Lionel parts will fit.
Interesting. My Pride Lines Hiawatha runs great, but is top heavy and easy to flip.
I bought the O-31 set with knuckle couplers. Out of about 52 stamped wheels on the tender and cars, at least 35 of them were stamped wrong, with the inner and outer holes not lining up, and wobbled like crazy. The owner replaced them for me and I sent the wobbly ones back.

Since my last post I bought one from a form member ten year yellow version 1971-1981. It's on my mantel as a display piece for the most part. It runs OK with enough voltage and a little noisy but a great piece nun the less. This; is what I would like to see MTH tool up for is a smooth running O gauge trolley.I'll take mine with PS-3 with trolley stops please!
I agree, I too wish MTH would do a "O" gauge trolley. The possibilities in tinplate are endless. I've also said in the past, I wish MTH would strike up a deal with Disney. I want a modern version of the Donald Duck and Pluto handcar with PS3. The Disney circus train would be tops on my list as well.
Ryan. Here is a short video of mine to give you an idea.
