I just bought a 2340 (restored) at York.  It works fine in forward, neutral, reverse, as long as it isn't going over any switches.  When it crosses any switch ( I have Atlas and Lionel), the e-unit recycles.  This doesn't happen when the e-unit is set for one direction only.  I tried the RadioShack tuner/cleaner, but it didn't help.  Does anyone have any ideas?  Thanks in advance.

SteveO:  I might add to check and see that both pick-ups are supplying power to the e-unit. If a pick-up wire from one of the collectors was not connected properly, you could be running only on one roller. Going over switches would show this when the collector roller would pass over a insulated/plastic section of the center rail and, hence,  the power to the e-unit would be broken, and the unit would cycle to the next position (neutral).  Hope this helps, Dennis M.
