HI GUY'S, I WOULD NOT WANT TO UPSET anyone so i'm keeping peace. See the new lionel prospector to be released in 2013 on the tinplate forum under cajun. Wait until you see the paint. no pricing or orders will be taken until JUNE 2013 with delivery in December.

WE WILL MAKE 2 VERSIONS! CONVENTIONAL AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPPED. THE COMMAND VERSION WILL HAVE SOUND!

I'M GUESSING IT WILL BE A TAD OVER 5 BILLS.

NO TRACK OR PACK. IT WILL BE ABOUT $300.00 LESS THAN OUR LAST OFFERING.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

LOUIE AND THE LCCA

The book Streamliners, History of a Railroad Icon, by Mike Schaffer & Joe Welsh (Motorbook Classics) has a very short bit about the original Prospector. Short is all it needed to be being as it only lasted 9 months, Nov 41 to July 42. The 192 HP motors couldn't handle the mountainous run. Maintenance cost & downtime killed them.

Hopefully Lou will clear this up at some point.  I think it would be great if MTH can put the Lionel command components in this unit.  In fact, wouldn't it be great if you could get future tinplate offerings either way?  I would think, however, that it will probably only be conventional since it is an LCCA product.

all tinplate whether its made for lionel or LCCA according to their agreement will be produced by MTH under LIONEL CORP. BRANDING. You will see NO MTH anything on our lakeshore set. everything is marked with a lionel L. the instuction sheets are even printed special. We will be doing the same with the lakeshore ltd. set being delivered next month.

thanks

sorry got that last sentence wrong. i meant to say the Prospector will be done the same way with the proper lionel markings and the lakeshore set is being delivered next month.

i believe we ARE using the lionel system. we are going to make this set available both ways

thanks

louie

Lou, since you are designing the specs on the set wouldn't you know for sure whose command system will be used ? If it is a Lionel command system will MTH install it or will you have a 3rd party install it ?

well a lot has to do with the contract wording between lionel and mth. it's kind of walking on glass. There will be NO third party involved. i'm thrilled we can offer this baby both ways when it comes to sound. As time goes on i will know more.

thanks

louie
