Proto 3 Railking Steamer wont add to remote

I have a basic railking 2-8-0 with protosounds 3

It runs fine in conventional. With DCS on it picks up the watchdog signal and comes up dark but will not add to the remote.

I set up an independent piece of track connected direct to the TIU and transformer. A railking diesel loaded no problem and the track signal strength is 10.

I tried the feature reset using the transformer horn and bell combination. got the 2 whistle acknowledgment, no help.

Is there anything I can do with the sound file loader program software? I tried using that to connect but i got a message saying no locomotive found, be sure the address is not 0.

Im thinking the address is the issue?

Try a RECOVER ENGINE

Menu / Engine setup / Recover engine

You have to have a later Version for this feature, I think it was 4.10 or higher.

Sounds like it may have a problem. If you tried recover engine and you're on a known good track that other engines add on, we're running out if options to make it go.

Did it every run in DCS for you?

Yes, I ran it once in DCS.
since that time the club remote and tiu have been reset since then. I’m guessing that’s why the recover wont work

Recover engine can only be done with TIU #1. So try recover engine again with TIU address #1 and use Fixed 1. Does it have a DCC/DCS switch? You could internally check to see that the jumper or wires connected. For DCS the jumper or switch is closed for continuity. G
