Hello all,
I just got an original MTH Big Boy PS1 sound board, brand new and ready to go that I was planning to upgrade my original '94 Premier Challenger with.
I'm planning to do the board swap myself but I'm a bit skeptical about the procedure, would it be better to simply switch out the chips between boards or could I switch out the entire board?

Swapping the board is probably the best bet, there aren't that many connections and you'll be more assured of a good result. There are some issues swapping chips between different vintages of PS/1 boards. Take a few pictures before you start and go slowly swapping the connections, you should be fine.
Pretty simple since just swapping the top sound board. Speaker and volume pot. Just get the pins into the bottom board correctly. G
