I found this video on youtube of a guy taking a PS/2 5V FEF and making it a PS/3. However he used the upgrade kit rather than the PS32 board. I thought you are supposed to use the 32 board for the 5V Upgrades? I know it's only sold to techs though.

I am not an expert in this, bit I also think you are supposed to use the 32 board.

Yeah, he should have used the 32 board. The same could have been done with a PS2 3v replacement for a 5v. You could put a PS2 3v board in a 5v engine by replacing the board connectors, speaker, and battery.
