Have a set of PS 2 LV Alco PA> Is the "battery" located in power unit or dummy unit? Thanks Tom Weaver

Should be in the power unit for those. Easy check, look for the charging port, the battery is right there. 
Since this was an early PS-2 unit, I don't think there is a "port". But it is in the power unit.
I put a 9v size BCR to hear those beautiful Alco sounds. Dave G.
Thanks for info! I with out fail would have removed the wrong body from chassis. I am installing a BCR at same time. Thank You!
Ha! Thanks for tips/info replaced the White MTH battery with a BCR. Lubed things up as this was a brand new set I got off evil bay from a town about 3 miles from me! No shipping! Lots of electronics in there. I ran on test stand to break in some. Not too impressed with the screws that hold body on the heads are pretty soft but I was slow and patient and got them out ok. I got the passenger 7 car set to go behind it.
