I do not and my club does not have the MTH DCS system.
My brand new MTH 20-20355-1 Santa Fe E-8 ABA set has a few problems right out of the box. I followed the instructions on the set up checklist in regards to lubricating the axles and pickup rollers as well as priming the A units in the front smoke stack. I powered up and waited for the capacitors to charge and gave the engines a break in with no cars being pulled for about 20 minutes.
1) The pots for the volume and smoke were installed backwards at the factory. I am having trouble with the smoke units. I am getting smoke sporadically, I decreased what I thought was the volume and added more fluid and realized the pots were installed backwards.
2) Coupler woosh/air release sound do not work but the couplers do open upon using the bell/horn sequence in conventional operation. Could this be a corrupt sound file?
3) PSA sound file gives the train number but no train name. Would saying "SUPER CHIEF" in the PSA announcements no longer be politically correct? The Santa Fe 20-2046-1 E6 announces the El Capitan but has a different horn sound. MTH has dropped the ball on the sound file for this set in my opinion by not including a classic train name for the sound set on this engine.
4) With speed control turned off in conventional operation, my clubs Z-4000 causes the train to slow down when the whistle/horn button is pushed and held down and speeds up when released.
5) The smoke unit stack has about 1/32" gap to the shell stack diameter for fluid to get past if you do not use a needle type filler. I am having problems with smoke not coming out both stacks in each A unit.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. I chose MTH over Lionel mostly because of value for the dollar. I am pretty happy with how they run and I look forward to your replies so I can get these issues resolved.
Thank You In Advance
