I have recently acquired a PS2 engine that runs fine on flat track with 10 cars behind it. When going up a 3% grade it slows from 50 smph to a craw until it reaches flat ground then it picks up speed when its back on level track. I then removed all the cars and got the same result. All my other PS2 engines do not have this problem. There is no wheel spin it just slows down to a craw.

Where should I start looking

Thanks Henry

I took the body off to look and see what I could see. All looks good to me nothing stood out. I took a towel and wiped off the speed tape and reader but the reader look a bit far away 3mm or so. I pushed it in a little. All wires looked to be connected. I checked the track voltage and it is at 18.3 volts for the length of the rise so that's good.I am running it in DCS mode.  So now I ran the engine with out the body and all is good now. I put the body back on and hooked up the rest of the train and we are good now.  Must be the little train Gremlins we have in Michigan

Thanks for your replys
