Put new battery in and followed the instructions.Still no sounds and at this point I am at a lost.I don,t know what else to do.I removed the shell of the locomotive and fixed the headlight.Got it working now. While I did that I checked to see if there were any burn marks.I didn,t see any on the boards.Any mth techs on the forum  are very welcome.

Does the loco run? When you power up the loco, you should hear two faint clicks, even if no sounds. If it runs, but no sounds, remove the tender shell carefully, see if the yellow or white wires to the speaker are attached, are all the plugs on the circuit board? Do not touch the circuit board. If all looks well, see if the speaker itself has a magnet that looks fuzzy, some PS 2 loco's magnets on the speaker have crystalized metal, which won't hold magnetism, resulting in no sound. The volume control should have all three wires attached to it as well. Gently turn the control up and down a few times, sometimes a dirty spot will block the voltage. If this doesn't work, let us know.
