Just finished installing a PS2 upgrade into my Blue Comet tender. Can I put the tender on the tracks to charge the battery without the engine being completed? Plan on finishing the other half tomorrow. Thanks for any responses.

If the battery is in the tender and the pickup rollers are on the tender, then you shouldn't need to have the engine on the tracks to charge the battery.
However, if you installed the battery charging port inn the tender, you could use an MTH battery charger instead of placing it on the tracks. This way, you wouldn't put time on the PS2 board's chronometer.
If you used the kit you would have to have added a wire to 7 pin to pick up center rail on tender. Otherwise AC power comes from the engine via the harness to power the board and the board needs AC power to charge the battery. As Barry said, easiest and safest is to use the external charger. G
Thanks for the responses. Another question, the tach strips weren't in the packaging, is there anywhere on the MTH site I can go to print these out? I looked but couldn't find them. I thought I read in other posts that they are available on-line. Does anyone know how to identify the tach reader? I want to get a replacement because I damaged one of the leads. Again, thanks for any responses.
Here ya go.
