Does anyone happen to know of a PS3 sound file for a diesel locomotive, equipped with a 645 prime mover, with the ditch lights/strobe/markers enabled? I need it for something I'm tinkering with and can't find one with all those functions enabled.

Have you considered making your own with ADPCM? Find a PS3 file with all of the right lighting functions and modify the sound file with the right prime mover sounds.
I can. I was trying to avoid changing sounds if there was already a file that has the functionality I want.
I've used ADPCM plenty of times before. I wish there was a way to use it or something similar to enable lighting functions in the sound file. Then it would be pretty easy to do something like this.
As I understand, many of the lighting functions in PS3 are actually in the chain files not the sound files. I suppose if the sound file is already good, all you would need is the correct chain file with the lighting functions you need.
I've not had lighting effects change with PS3 until the sound file is changed. At least in stuff I've done the chain file seems to have no effect on lighting functions.
I believe the functions are mixed for different models. There's no telling where you'll find some of the stuff.

Turbocharged or roots blown?

SD45, tubo 645.

Yeah I've noticed. I've tried loading a few Premier SD45/SD40 files into the locomotive and I haven't found one that has all the lighting functions enabled.
Basically I'm trying to add front and rear markers to a RK BN SD45. It has ditch lights and a roof top strobe but no markers (because it's RK). Adding the connections to the board harness connector for the markers is the easy part. Problem is I've tried several files and what happens is either the markers and ditch lights work (but not the roof top strobe) or the strobe and markers work but not the ditch lights. It's kinda driving me nuts.

OK, and that would be a locomotive model without the exhaust silencer (muffler), and thus louder than Dash-2 series turbocharged units. I don't know if MTH differentiates their turbocharged EMD sounds, i.e. 567 turbo, 654 turbo, or 645 turbo with exhaust silencer.

To be honest I do not know. I have the ability to change the sounds in the file using the ADPCM editing software but I can't change the lighting functionality built into the file. So even if there was a file that had the correct lighting functions with a roots 567 I could use it and just move the correct 645 turbo sounds to the file. So in this case I'm more concerned about lighting functionality than prime mover sounds, as I can correct that issue.
Try going into the edit softkeys menu in ADPCM. In there you'll see lighting options, maybe those will do it?

I think I may give that a try and see if it works. I'll modify the file and check today or tomorrow and see if turning the marker light softkey/function on actually works.

Well I tried that. It didn't work. The lights have to be turned on in the file from MTH apparently.
Even by selecting the appropriate soft key light options? That sucks.

Yup. It didn't turn the marker light functionality on at all in the file.
Darn!
If you don't mind a double start up sound, the DDA40X file has all the elements you are looking for. Keep in mind that roof beacons were generally obsolete when ditch lights started being used.
Also I thought I loaded a converted proto-one BN SD40 with proto 2 and it enabled Markers, roof beacon and ditch lights.
Another possibility is to do a bit of custom wiring to handle the lights.

I'm thinking the easiest route would be to just tie the 2mm red/green LEDs into the number board circuit.
Yep, but one little issue is the different voltages required. Since the PS/3 boards drive the LED's directly, paralleling any dissimilar LED's will be problematic without some balancing resistors.
You can try this file; Railking SD45 (20-645 w/ ditch lights) - https://mthtrains.com/30-20202-1.
Or how about a Railking SD60 (16-710 w/ ditch lights) - https://mthtrains.com/30-20236-1.
both are PS3.
Thanks!

Neither have the marker light function enabled, because they are RailKing, which is what the locomotive is. I'd need a file that has markers, strobe, and ditch lights. A RailKing file won't.

A quick search on MTH also had plenty of Premier SD45s, although I’m not sure which ones have strobes. Honestly, the F40PH sound files are great with super turbo sounds and markers, ditch and strobes.

I can try an F40. I'd just have to reconfigure the PFA sequence to the SD45 freight one instead of the F40 passenger version.
