I'm thinking about buying a ps3 F3 AA set with both A units being powered. Can each A unit be run by it's self?

What specific product number? There were some PS3 A-A sets that had a slave board in the trailing A, but recent releases have had a complete PS/3 board in each.
John, I'm thinking I'd like a recent F3 set. I have close 20 early B-units that I could use. I'd just put the tether inside the body.
Pick one and check the manual on the MTH site.

Did MTH sell "A-A" sets that didn't have the tether/slave combo? I've only seen the later individual sale ones that run independently.

They had both, I believe earlier sets have the slave board and tether, then later they just dispensed with the slave board and made them independent units.
