I have a premier PRR E6 4-4-2 Atlantic, originally a PS2 5V model, but now with a PS3 upgrade. The model and all functions work great, but I could not access the quilling whistle. I loaded a new sound file for a later PS3 version of this model, but have the same issue. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

#1 when you changed the sound file, did you delete and re-add the engine to your DCS system? During the add engine- that's when the features are selected for the remote or app to display them. If you added the engine using a non-quilling whistle, and then flashed the sound file- sure the engine may have the capability- but the remote doesn't know that yet.
#2 What sound file from what engine product number did you select? I'm saying that, because I would use ADPCM to preview the sound file on the computer, noting that it also has the softkey option set and the correct quilling sound segments in the corresponding locations.
The assumptions are:
You upgraded the engine using a stacker board set. Did you then also flash the corresponding correct stacker chain files to the board? I think you would have given you said everything else works, but as a step by step check, that's where we start- is the correct firmware loaded. Then we ensure we actually loaded a file validated to have the quilling whistle sound segments, and the softkey option selected for quilling whistle- again, validated using the ADPCM application. Last, none of that matters if we are using an old ID instance of the engine in the remote or app. It should be cleared and re-added- so the new quilling feature softkey function of the sound file is associated with that engine ID in the remote or app.
The PS3 upgrade was done by forum member GGG so I am quite confident all that was loaded correctly. But I did not delete and reload the engine to my DCS system. I will give that a try. I may not get to it today, but will provide an update on the result as soon as I get the chance
I had a few minutes so I went ahead and deleted and re added the engine as Vernon suggested. Issue resolved - all features working great to include the quilling whistle. Thank you Vernon!
Next time I suggest a factory reset. Not only does it delete it from the remote, but it also resets the locomotive to defaults. Then you start with a clean slate when you add it back in.
Good advice. Thanks John
