E-unit on Lionel C&O 624 Switcher was replaced by QSI E-unit & sound system prior to my purchase 10 yrs ago. Sound system works but E-unit has stopped working. Replaced rechargable battery with alcaline but no help. Where can I get literature on QSI or a tech support/repair service for QSI E-unit? How do I identify which QSI do I have?

Scale Tin rail in Ariz. can help, Art has the QSI licence. If your engine has the ACRU board, they are no longer available but can probably repair yours. I can post the contact information tomorrow if you need it.

Can you describe the exact sounds it makes and what occurs at start up. What sounds do you have after you try to come out of reset? G
When I use the whistle toggle on ZW, I get bell rings, then diesel sounds then no sounds. There is no sound from E-unit when I toggle direction or whistle switch or turn power up/down or off.

Jerry, This could be a simple ID issue. You need to see what type of system it has. Do you have the instructions that came with the unit?
These are voltage sensitive at start up, and the engine can be deselected waiting for its address. You can do a search on PS-1 in the MTH DCS Section for some ideas.
