I was searching through QSI’s old website on archive.org, and I stumbled across this:
Any lighted passenger car can carry its own QSI Station Announcement. The arrival and departure announcements, including road and city names, are specific to your passenger set road name. You can operate your QSI Station Announcement car while it's being pulled with any engine on your layout. No other special electronics are required. For added realism, the sounds from QSI Station Announcement are designed to coordinate with the engine sounds and action of a QS-2 or QS-2+ engine using Passenger/Freight Announcement.
QSI Station Announcement fits easily in passenger cars. Powered from the rollers, QSI Station Announcement uses Random Sequence Sound technology with background sounds, so the sounds are fresh, never boring. Sixteen bit digital sound and a battery back-up insure continuous, CD-like dynamic range sound quality. You control the timing of the arrival, in-station and departure announcements with your transformer.
For even more realism, add a City Station QSI SoundBloxx (BX-101) for continuous background station sounds.
- Fits in any O-Gauge lighted passenger car
- Easy to turn on—just press bell button for 3 seconds as you pull into the station
- Speaker included
Self recharging battery and automatic shut down
I know the sounds would probably be very similar (perhaps even identical) to MTH’s/QSI’s Passenger Station Announcement Sequences, but I am curious. Does anyone have one of these that they could share as a video or something like that? By the way, the website said that there were versions made for the “20th Century Limited” (Item Number SA-100) and one for the “Congressional” (Item Number SA-101) but I am not sure if there were any others that were made. There are also two images above that I found on the website as well. Any help would (of course) be greatly appreciated.
