Hi, was wondering if anybody could steer me in the right direction.  In 2002 I (w/Dewey's) guidance built a fun little layout that works great, was wondering if anybody could steer me in the right direction.

At the time it was being built Dewey sent me some light bulbs on pigtails to my amazement these little guys helped my track signal significantly.  Do you guys still use these?  I had about 12 of these little bulbs, kinda Christmas like under there I always liked it.  About 6 are out and would like to find a source for these, if anybody has a part number and or a contact that would be great.

Also I have an older 2002 TIU that has not been updated downloadec in a long time, on my handheld remotes it says 2003.  Everything still works good, engines, switches, accessories, and special features.  Do I need to do a new recent update or will that not be a good idea on an older TIU.  What benefits will it actually provide?

Thank you,

Phil

Can't help on the "magic light bulbs" as i didn't need any. My 2 layouts are both only 5x9, so the signal strenth is fine without them.

As for the older TIU, as long as it's working AND you do not have any PS3 equipped engines, you can stay with what you have. I'm still using version 3.1 (and a rev G TIU), but i really need to  upgrade to vesrion 4.2 so I can fully utilize the 3 PS3 engines I have aquired in the last 2 years. Hope this helps you -----
