Appreciate any comments about this locomotive. Also, how long is it--what diameter curve is required?

It's big!! Mine is packed right now so an exact length I can't say but it's around 18 inches maybe??? Testing mine when I bought it I ran it on O-31 track but it was not happy. I'd say O-42 minimum, O-54 better and o-72 to look good. It's a nice loco and reminds me of WbB in construction.
Thanks for the info.
These C630 have been upgraded with TAS SAW boards, electro-couplers and bi-directional marker lights. Bi-directional marker/classification lights were a TAS add-on kit powered from the smoke output on the SAW boards. Both units pictured do not have smoke units.
Noted issue with the (3) axle trucks. More of a (2) axle truck with a floating blind (lack of flange) 3rd axle, middle of unit. Some had plastic third axle wheels and some had metal third axle wheels. The metal third axle, expecially on smaller layouts causes shorts. I called Weaver about plastic third axle replacement on my one unit that has metal wheel third axles. No replacement parts available. Part of the problem is the Asymmetrical Alco truck assembly. The third axle is way-back there.
i had 630 and still have several sd-40's. best operating-trouble free power i ever had.always kept the amps under4= no problems.=jim
