Question concerning Lionel Corp Black 400e | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

When looking at the Lionel Corp Standard Gauge Tinplate Black w/Brass 400e ..I noticed that there are two different item #s very close in production 11-1024 and 11-1028. What's the difference between the two? Does one have painted bands and the other have brass bands? If you have a picture of either engine..can you please post?

11-1024 and 11-1028 are the correct SKU numbers.

The engine is most likely the same. 24 was uncatalogued and 28 catalogued.

Maybe the change was to denote the $100 price increase.

Thanks! I changed the item #s to reflect 11-. Would you know if the bands are painted or unpainted?

The bands are black in both photos. Have not seen the engine in person to confirm they shipped this way.
