I recently purchased a surprisingly pristine example that I am curious as to the production dates apply to it. It has the CP logo at the cab end of the side skirting and no other identification in conjunction with it such as the road number or the name. In the place of these, it has a maroon horizontal "stripe" in addition to the logo. The seller said it was an early version of this engine. Does anyone know the production dates?

The CP type locomotive was made for many, many years. Things like the type of driver wheels and collector shoes can date a Marx loco to either pre-war or post-war.
