I know the MTH Premier NS Honoring First Responders SD60E #911 & Veterans #6920 have not been shipped yet, but I do have a question regarding the horn sound they will put in these engines. First off the 911 I did see in person and you can watch the video below I filmed in Rootstown Ohio of it blowing it's horn and that horn is a Raised Letter K5LA. As for the video below that, which is not mine but I'm sharing is of 6920 and he has a Leslie RS5T. So what I'm getting at, Mike Wolf mentioned in the TCA and Train World Interview that the voice of the Chairman of when these engines were Commerated will be in them. So will these 2 units have the same horn recorded in them as real life? But I thought I would ask if anyone knows yet, since 911 and 6920 do have 2 different horns in real life.

It's anyone's guess! The horn will likely be the same for all of the new MTH SD60E's but if they could change it depending on if they are aware or not. Have you contacted them? I would suggest doing so ASAP they tend to listen to customers on these things. Considering that this has been one of the most requested models in recent years I am quite certain that they will listen to any suggestion from potential buyers! I remember when the SD60E first came out and they were reluctant at first to make them but then NS decided to paint certain ones up like they did and that finally gave them enough reason to do so.

Adam, I just sent MTH an email in regards about the horn. Once they email me back, I'll post here of what they said. I'm not hugely concerned if the horn doesn't sound the same, but I would think they would chose the right horn sound to the engine of this type since the First Responders and Veterans will have 2 different Chairman audio's.
