On a post somewhere on this forum a comment was made that Radio Shack was gone. I just received 2 Roles of 60/40 Solder from Radio Shack and doing a web search they are still in business. I goggled the name and actually found 3 authorized dealers with in 50 miles of me in State College. This is just FWIW!

Rick, I for one am glad to know The Shack is still in business. They left Butler quite a few years ago after a long run here first at the Greater Butler Mart and then at the now nearly ghost town Clearview Mall. I bought a lot of stuff there starting when I was in college for Electronics and over the years. I see there are two within 50 miles, Clarion and Columbiana, Ohio. I see the three within 50 miles of you, and there is even one in Kane. Thank you, I'll have to see what they still have online.
Yes they are open. I ordered on line about one month ago and got great service.
They used to be my go-to source for relays to operate block signals with. Glad they are still around.
Depending where you live, your nearest Hobbytown USA may have Radio Shack Express inside.
The one near me has a few aisles of Radio Shack packaged things like resistors, capacitors, bread boards, etc..
Thanks guys for the heads up, I found one inside a Hobby Town 19 miles away.

My shop is in a Hobbtown, and they have a Radio Shack Express store within. Carry componets, like basic transistors, capacitors, resistors, fuses. Seems like Hobbytown stores are the new Radio Shack.
My understanding is Radio Shack sells to whoever hands them money. So you could buy up all kinds of goodies to stock your store but then its up to you to sell them, no takebacks (not sure about defective items or liabilities, imagine not).
Just my two cents. Where I worked we thought about Radio Shack, but owner decided too much ri$k and adverti$ing for limited return$.
