Well, I wrote an email direct to MTH hoping for a response, but got none. My hobby shop got an answer back in January when they inquired for me. I understand that someone at MTH follows OGR's MTH forum, so if you do, will I ever see the 4014 Rail King Big Boy I ordered over 2 years ago? The last estimate was end of March, you said you were having chip problems. Is that still the case? I ordered this through my hobby shop, and they also ordered one to put on the shelf to sell, but this just seems a ridiculous long time to wait. I can find 4012's and other numbers all over the place, and I guess I could just renumber it, but why so long to produce this item? Do you actually plan to produce 4014's or complete the ones you apparently have waiting for parts?

I'm in the same boat CALNNC!!!!
Placed my order with Ken Jnr at TrainWorld when the 4014 was first announced, and I'm still waiting here, down-under in Australia.
Mind you, if it had arrived when it was supposed to, I would have had to sell a kidney to finalize the payment, but the delay has let the finances accumulate to a point now where I can keep both kidneys.

If I had not traveled to West Chicago from NC to go see the 4014 up close and personal, then head out 50 miles further west to get pics and video of it running, I might go for another road number, but guess I am addicted to those 4 digits.
I ordered mine from Marios Trains. I spoke to Joe a few weeks back and he stated MTH told him they would be in one of the next few shipments (MTH 30-1840). Trainworld has updated the arrival date to the end of August. The Railking water tenders are the same date. I've noticed a pattern looking at the MTH schedule lately and it appears a lot of locomotives are arriving 10 months to a year late so July/August sounds about right. I don't think the latest Railking Big Boy was available for preorder until March of 2022 with an estimated arrival of August 2022. I'm sure it feels like 2 years though. I know it does for me.

Just got a phone call asking if i cared if the bigboy chalk mark is not on the front would i still want my engine? I said absolutely. So i think they are stateside and being inspected and found this issue. I ordered the restoration version.
When i visited Legacy Station today Brian said they are indeed stateside. 👍👍👍👍
