do you mean Lionchief?  There are a few brief threads about it, but I would like to hear more.  I plan to buy one or the other this season.  My guess is my daughter will like the Lionchief with the remote and more voices etc...  I would prefer the older version where I get a CW80 as part of the deal since I could use that on my permanent conventional layout.  The constant output of the Lionchief power supply won't work on my layout with the other conventional trains I own.

The LionChief Polar Express engine doesn't run any smoother. No jumpy starts if that's what you mean. It will run slower, especially when using the DC 18v 2A power supply that's included, but it still runs slower than the conventional when using 18v AC. I don't know what you want to know by quieter. The conventional engine was always quiet. The noise came from the cars. The same cars are used for both sets. The railsounds in the tender are near the Legacy quality with the conductor's voice included. No break squeal. Smoke is better with constant voltage, so are the lights.

PS-RailChief was the early name for the system.

You really can't go wrong with this set. It definitely can run slower, smoother, and quieter than the conventional version. Its definitely a great puller as seen in my video it can pull the 9 car Polar Express train pretty well slow or fast. It also smokes a lot better than the conventional version. Another nice feature is that you can turn the chuff and idle sounds off and just have whistle, bell, and announcents.

To answer your other questions from your other thread mine runs great on my Z1000 through my DCS set with no problems. It will run at the same time with my PS2 and PS3 engines with no interference between the two. The locomotive does have lighted green marker lamps as well.
