I am trying to determine why my Railking 30-20173-1 LIRR mu 4 car set runs as if the throttle is being raised and lowered constantly. What I mean is that as the train is running say anywhere between 10-50 scale miles per hour the locomotive kind of lurches as if it slows down instantly and then speeds up.You can see the couplers slackening and tightening constantly.Has anyone else had similar problems with these MU sets.Could it be a faulty or misaligned tach reader? I have no other issues like this with any of my MTH engines.

On another note:

Worst set they ever made. MTH added weights under warranty to the motor car in order to pull 6 cars around o42 curves. This put stress on the gears and caused them slip. Had to modify the truck gears for better operation. Lionel set never had a problem. Really have to ramp up the remote speed past 23 to get them to perform. The heavy trucks like the subways, really hinders the performance. Over engineered, poor design.
