RailKing Big Boy Whistle and Bell?

Merry Christmas,

I got my son an RK Big Boy. The horn and bell don't sound, but other PS features seam to be working. Is this because I am using a CW-80 as opposed to a Pure Sine Wave controller? Thank you for your time.

The CW-80 is a likely culprit.

MTH lists "compatible transformers" in the back of the loco owners manual. The CW-80 is NOT on that list.
