RailKing Burlington Pioneer Zephyr front/rear power trucks not always in sync

I'm guessing it's a wire, but My RK Zephyr has an issue where the rear trucks randomly stop working whilst the front one keeps going. I've taken the two non-power cars off, but still does it with just the power car and observation. It's random: sometimes will run fine for a half hour, other times won't even start correctly. Any input appreciated.

Check pins on connector and wiring/tether in rear car. G
