RailKing Steam drawbars?

I have used the shorter drawbars in some cases where i know the diameter of my turns are greater than the minimum O-31.  When you get to O-54 and O-72, I don't see why you couldn't use shorter drawbars.

I think you could experimentally determine it by just parking on the curve of your choice and measuring the minimum gap, then figure what drawbar you can use to reduce it.

As a FYI the minimum radius for most MTH Premier 2-8-4s and 4-8-4s is 054, with most 4-6-2s and 4-6-4s being rated down to 042. So you could run Premier steam if you wanted to, just not the big articulated locomotives.

I don't have any of the RailKing engines yet.  I was trying to skip the get it, measure it, order it step :-) .  I will probably order the set with the longest drawbars and start there.  

Lou, I buy Premier steam whenever I can.  I have several that run on O54 and O42.  But examples of what I can't buy are Lionel's scale S2, MTH's UP FEF 844 and of course the articulated Big Boy.  I've thought about buying them and someday running them but I know it would bother me not being able to run them right away.  There are no shelf queens in my collection!
