Is there a maximum chuff speed that Railsounds 4 can generate?
I've recently upgraded an E-6 Atlantic to 4 chuffs per revolution, and the chuff rate maxes out at about 25 scale miles per hour. If i did the math right, that about 7 chuffs per second.

Well, at some point the sounds will run together and be pretty hard to distinguish and just run together. In the ballpark of 35-35 scale MPH sounds about right. By the time you get down near 100ms for a chuff, it's pretty hard to hear distinct sounds.
Gets to the sound akin to a drum roll on a steel garbage can.
Yep, they just run out of time to make a proper chuff sound.
That's why I like 1 or 2 cuffs per. Don't sound like a machine gun at moderate speeds. Most like the prototype of 4 cuffs per rev, but not me.
If you listen to a real 1:1 steam locomotive at speed, you can't separate the chuffs either. At some point the sounds simply run together.
