St. Charles Model Works. They advertise in OGR, and are the best loads, of any kind, on the market

Thanks will check it out.
Might want to check with Bob:
Great quality and service. I'll be back for more when my new hoppers arrive!

Not so sure about the great service part....
In the spring, I made numerous attempts to contact Bob to order some loads. Many phone calls, voicemails, and emails over the course of a few weeks and never a response. No indication he wasn't taking new customers at the time on his website or voicemail. Not the way to run a business if you ask me.
Here what i did make coal load for my coal hoppers. Cut out cardboard box then paint it black then stick down in top of car goes down in about 1/2 inch. Then i took real coal crushed up. Then pour coal in car til full you can also glue it if you want and it looks prototype beats buying coal loads for 10.00 a piece when have a bunch of cars to do. Here is a video how i did it.
Real anthracite is still cheap (and clean).
One thing to remember about REAL COAL is, it oxidizes, i.e it ever so slowly BURNS! After a couple of years you are left with lots of white looking ash. Most of the loose coal pieces under my coal dock are slowly turning to ash, which sort of looks cool on the ground. But, I sure wouldn't want the coal loads in my hopper cars to look like THAT!
Blue Mountain Hobbies is gone. The fellow who owned it passed away. Your next best bet would be Bob's Coal Loads.

Trouble with Bob's loads is they're not 'proto.
His loads leave most cars underloaded and the railroads charge a penalty for under loads.
Also, they don't have the appearance of aotu or floodloading.
Sorry.
All my loads were from Bob's and I was and still are very pleased with them, but I believe that Bob's closed up some time ago. He posted to this forum regarding it.
Sorry to hear about the fellow at Blue Mountain Hobbies. His was my favorite coal (and ore) load. I wonder if someone else would want to revive the business there.

That is correct.
