Relocating the Creedence Clearwater Brewery

Thanks. It looks rather bare right now, but it will look good there when its done, and it will be a fun project.  

A new brewery opens up directly across the tracks from the church.  The guy responsible  at town planning is gonna be the main subject at next Sunday's sermon.

The brewery looks really good in the new location!  I like it there (no matter what the pastor may have to say), and I'm glad you restored the lake area to its natural splendor.  I also like that your city has old, disused tracks still in place below ground level... It gives it a sort of authenticity, like it's a real city with an evolving history.

For the young'ns on the forum.  CCR.  Credence Clearwater Revival.  One of the better groups, when we was young, (late 60's, early 70's).  I believe John Fogerty hung around beyond the group.  I had several 8 track tapes of their "music", another interesting, left by the side of the road technology.

Yeah, it is, Spence.  The triangular area was actually intended to be a pop up hatch, and it is: if you are a snake or the skinniest person on earth.   Some plans don't work out too well.  I have only 14 inches width from underneath.  Instead, I slide the "pallet" (gray cover" hatch over it, leaning across about two feet of layout to get to the closest edge.

Anyway, I am building the entire "pallet" off the  layout and then will slide it into place with everything on it.  It is foamboard cut to fit exactly and then reinforced on the long edge with wood for strength.  I will assemble\ the entire scene: buildings, ground cover, figures, even perhaps some vehicles (although I usually place them on after) and then slide it into place.

This plan works well with Woodland Scenic and Menard's wood buildings, but would not work with the resin ones like the feed and seed: they weigh to much to easily handle when leaning and holding them that far, and I think the weight would buckle the foamboard.  This is frankly, the reason the brewery goes here and the feed and see somewhere else.

It's done.  This was a nice project to do, and necessary to my new plan, but I found in hard to be really enthusiastic about it, I think because this building is not new: I had done all this before.  to the lower left is the torn up area where the Ferrari Factory was located.

Here it is.  Everything  but the building is glued to the triangular pallet (see photos in early posts).  I put that in place, get it positioned, and then place the building on.  (I do this because with the building I think it might weigh to much to be easy to handle)

Here, too, again, as in the first location, is Lt. Columbo, confronting the brewery employee who was sure he would get away with the crime, "Well, you see, sir, there is just one thing that puzzles me . . . "

Hmmm, what does the Rector of the Cathedral think about his new neighbor (unless of course he has a taste for the brews).
