Remove Smoke Stain

Hello all,

Once again talking about my new Lionel FEF here, she seems to have some oil stains from the smoke unit. Or so I have been told.

I want remove the stain to make her look for “presentable” for Passenger service.

Question is what can I use to safly remove the stain, with out damaging the paint?

Is isopropyl alcohol (91%) safe to use?
