I have one that doesnt operate any more!! Is it worth while trying to repair or just REPLACE it ?? Any suggestions. I guess I'm looking for anyone who works on these for suggestions (TIP).
Please advise,

There are only 2 boards in the unloader. A motherboard and an r2lc-06 radio board. What is the actual problem? "Doesn't work" does not help us to help you. If the radio board died, you could try an r2lc-08 board. The unloader came with a radio board that was an 06. Most of the time the 08 is a perfect replacement. If its an issue with the motherboard, you are probably out of luck. That board has programmable chips on it that only Lionel would have the code for.
I dont think it is a Mechanical Issue. Had most the TOP End of this thing apart. Both the Motors function, so must be the Boards. I see entire Units on TRAINZ & EBAY for a little over a $100.00. A couple are NEW in the box, so the BOARDS are probably that much. Thanls for the reply though!
A new radio board is around 70 from ERR. For those prices I would just replace it.

Is "it" the board or the accessory?

I would replace the accessory.
After taking that thing apart and spending the rest of the day assembling it back in one piece, I think you are right!! Purchase a "NEW" One!!
Thanks,
