What size of screw does Lionel use to connect the driver assembly to the body of the Lion Master Big Boy?

I had this issue with a postwar turbine, take the one you have and go to a good hardware store they should have a replacement. It will have a hex head but will work. E mail me if you have issues.
Did you try the Lionel Parts site? Even if the breakout doesn't list your part in stock it might have some info on the screw size to help the search. I've also just searched up Lionmaster and looked at other engines to see if I can find similar parts to substitute.
I'm still trying to understand exactly which screw we're talking about. How about a picture?

He should pull the other screw and take it to a real hardware store to get the size and thread count, I looked on the L site and they do not break out any of the driver/piston/mounting screws
Well, the description doesn't offer me much guidance to exactly what screw is missing.

Which Big Boy were you looking at on lionelsupport.com, 6-38075 or 1932162?

I looked on all of them?
Thank you for all the replies and helpful suggestions. I am new here and the help is really nice to see.
Is this the screw that's recessed in the bottom of each set of drivers?
If so, this is a motor mount screw. It holds the motor in the gearbox.
If this is the screw you need. Here is the part from Lionels website. It's a 6-32 × 5/16"

Looking at the exploded parts photo on lionelsupport.com for 6-38075 there are several parts that are shown in the drawing but not detailed in the parts listing. One of these may be what the OP is trying to find:
The listing does not include item numbers beyond item no. 68, and those highlighted above are in the 80's:
Unfortunately there's not much we can do, except postulate, as @RickO has done so nicely, unless and until Lionel fixes the listing.

Can you post up a picture and point where the missing screw goes, so the fellas can stop playing the exciting game of “ Guess that screw” ……

The listings for the bigboys as you pointed out are non existent or incomplete.
I sourced the motormount screw information from one of the Lionmaster challenger parts breakdowns. It "should" work for the bigboy IF the motormount screw is what the.O.P. is actually looking for.
But, until the O.P. supplies more information be it a photo etc. We are all just guessing anyway.
( I sure do miss the parts format that Mike Reagan designed)

why, you can now find those perfected exploded views over at mthpartsandsales.com …..what Mike did at Lionel with parts should be industry standard, …..even the automakers use a similar system……😉

I think it’s 64 in the challenger break down pic. It is the screw that the drivers pivot around that also holds the entire driver assembly to the frame. I have both engines, just haven’t gotten them out of their boxes for Christmas running yet.
I appreciate all the advice. Was hoping someone had had the same issue and already went down this rabbit hole.
One more question? Does Lionel the use metric screws now?
