Replacing light and Transformer? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have a bw-80 Transformer. Not a cw-80 Transformer. Works fine but the green power light burnt out. It was thinking of replacing the light bulb. Can't find a part number or illustration for the light bulb/transformer. Also don't know if it's replaceable or these units are able to be opened. Would anyone have any info on if it can be replaced and if so the part number? Thanks in advance.

I have not heard of a bw-80 transformer. Are you 100% it's a bw? And is it a Lionel transformer?

Yes it is a lionel BW Transformer. It is very similar-looking to the CW eccept it has an external power brick.

If it's like the CW case, you'll need an oddball screwdriver to get into it, the triangle bit.

The light is a LED, so it may require some soldering to replace, but it is accessible once you get the case open.

Thanks guys. I'll use my modified screwdriver, and put a new LED in.
