Replacment Frames for Weaver Troop sleeper series cars by Atlas

If anyone has installed these replacement frames please share your experience with the repair.

I don't recall the original poster showing any photos, but I remember that he did state that the replacement unuerframes were NOT painted.

I assume the original Weaver trucks will fit on the new frames.

I believe that was stated.

Richard, thanks for this posting.  I have been wondering myself of late as to what the status was on replacement frames for the troop cars.  Have looked for the older postings concerning this, but no luck finding with the time I have getting into the Forum.  I was not aware Muffin had these for procuring, that in itself is very good information.  I have looked, but found no information, whether Des Plaines Hobbies had success with making them and having for availability.  Yes, will be following this thread close as for the information and in hopes it does assist with my cars status being an fix.

Muffin said he had plenty of frames left. You better order some. It looks as if the price is $29.95 each. I was hoping the replacement frames would come in at the $ 20- $25 price range. But at least they are here.

I don't under stand why their was not more fan faire about the release of the replacement frames.

Des Plains stopped their frame project when Atlas announced the production of the Weaver troop sleeper cars and the replacement frames.

If you go to the Atlas O Scale parts area of the webpage; go to parts for the troop cars and you will see the frames for sale and ordering.  Part # AF20581001A .   I haven't ordered or called about these floors, but I thought I'd pass it on. I have four or five cars with broken floors, so I'm glad they may become  available.

Looked at the parts list. I wish they had pictures. I might could use some of those parts when I rebuilt my troop sleepers.
